Bellamy (Bell) Saia grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi. Since childhood, she has had a natural talent for design. She studied interior design and marketing at Mississippi State University where she met her husband, Vince. Their three children, Parker, Annabelle and Joseph are a large part of Matchstix, as their photographs are featured in every product. The Saia’s now reside in the small, charming town of Collierville, Tennessee.
Matchstix exists today as a result of Bellamy’s vision in 2005. She sought to create a product that would complement any home’s décor, yet have a unique design. Using her creative skills, Bellamy designed Matchstix’s “clip & screw” system, incorporated with natural, hand-distressed wood. Matchstix products have distinct features with a non-traditional, simple look. While other companies may imitate the Matchstix design, Bellamy’s original concept remains in its own class and has been successful because of her “hands-on” approach. All products are all produced by the “Matchstix” team in a warehouse in Collierville, just off the historic town square. They are then shipped daily to specialty gift stores across America.
